Kenton has just finished installing the new database to manage the advertiser listings. Many of the listings on The Bridal Net have been there for a few years, and it's due for a major spring clean! If your listing needs renewing, you'll most likely be hearing from us within the next week or so.

But first the honest truth on Bridal Net, it's history, and it's rebirth:
In 2001, I established a small Wedding Video Production Company in the heart of Sydney. Things grew, (and grew), until I had a couple of staff and also needed help with my online presence. My husband, Kenton, who was working as a software developer at the time, decided to give it a go. With his programming and analytical skills he not only give me an awesome site, he soon rose our wedding video production business to the Number 1 spot, worldwide in google, and kept it there until we sold it in early 2007.
By this stage, Kenton had quit his corporate Software Developing role and had become a totally focused, Search Engine Optimising Machine! Not bad for my little nerd huh?
While establishing our business' online presence, Kenton approached some internet wedding portals / directories to get some all important links. Some of them wanted - eeek! - anywhere from $500 to $3000 per year for our telephone number (not even a link) to be published on a site that Google couldn't even find. He almost fell off his chair!
So the Bridal Net was formed. At first, it was more as a bit of a knee jerk reaction, even a revolution, to give small businesses in the wedding industry a fair go and not hit them up for exorbitant fees when realistically, we just can't afford it.
When our Wedding Video business sold in 2007, Kenton returned to the corporate world and I moved on to be Producer for an Outback Lifestyle show. With 2 children, me away in Whoop Whoop on shoots for up to 14 days every 2 months, and Kenton working full time, there was no time for working on the Bridal Net. It started to look old, we knew it, but there was no time left to do anything about it! It was that awful thing in the back of our minds.... but now we are back, full time, with renewed energy and more time in our lives --YEY!
The Bridal Net has been set up to give Wedding Supply Businesses a VALUE FOR MONEY way to be exposed to as many brides as possible. This has always been our core value, and will continue to do be, no matter how huge our site grows on the internet. And we will become BIG!
So that is it, that's our story. We are just a husband and wife team with complimentary professional skills having a go because we are passionate about small businesses, and excited by the opportunity that the internet brings to the little guys. We don't employ any staff but who knows that may change in the futre. We would love your support. Even if it's just a small email letting us know how we can improve, we'd love to hear it.
